Isn’t it great, to do what you love to do?
My name is Iris, I’m a 20 year old street workout athlete from Austria and I’ve been working for GORNATION for almost a year by now. The last 10 days I spent at the GORNATION HQ at Münster, experiencing the most amazing time at work I could imagine.
Combining my passion for street workout with work was probably the best thing that could happen to me. If you find a job where you don’t mind getting up at 6 a.m. spending the whole day in the office although it’s 37°C and blue sky outside, you know you’re on the right path.
So, what was I actually doing here? I always dreamed of doing marketing for a company which addresses a peer group I am close to. And as I love designing and communicating I ended up in the marketing section at GORNATION. It makes me feel super happy to see you guys proudly wearing the new wristbands I designed or talking to you at events and convincing new people to try calisthenics. I’m dreaming of a worldwide calisthenics community and I believe that with GORNATION this is possible.
During my time here in Münster I spent many hours on different design projects like new wallpapers or products. Besides that, we also started the GORNATION Vlog. As we got a new workout park here in Münster we filmed our first freestyle session there and we also made a vlog of the calisthenics event “Main Lappen Cup” at the weekend. Furthermore, we had a photo shooting to get new material for commercial usage and I’m very curious about how you guys will like these pictures.
I also got the possibility to take part in a job interview with a potential coworker which was super interesting and for somebody like me, who’s studying business administration a very important experience.
I think it’s inspiring and incredible to see how Philipp runs this business. I’ve never seen a 22 year old running a business like that and I feel that many people in the age of my parents could learn a lot from him. So, at that point I want to thank you, Philipp, a lot for giving me the opportunity to get an insight in all of that!
Also, I want to thank all the people in the coworking space. You guys are amazing!! I never felt as much motivation and harmony in an office. It’s so beautiful to have people around you that want you to become the best version of yourself and believe in you. They all made me think a lot about my life and how I could improve it. I really value your input a lot! Besides that, I think it’s just super cool that we spent time after work together, whether it was working out or going to the public pool, it was a pleasure every time.
I will definitely miss the time here in Münster and I am very much looking forward to coming back again. I will continue to do my work for GORNATION from Vienna and I am very excited about fulfilling the next projects and tasks.
GORNATION is more than just a company. It’s a brand that connects people and spreads a lifestyle that means a lot to me.
I am so happy to be part of this!
Thank you, Philipp and Lissi for everything!
And to everybody else reading this blog: You were not meant to just live a regular life doing something you don’t enjoy. Find your passion and do something with it!
Lots of love to all of you!

A few years ago nobody, and not even Slidis, would have thought that he would become one of the calisthenics top athletes, let alone that he is healthy. He has many victories to celebrate, the biggest of which is probably winning the WSWCF/ISF Street Lifting (Weighted Calisthenics) Nationals four times. In this article he talks about his tough path in life and gives the most important training tips for street workout.
